Steve Epperson is the President and founder of R-Detailing Corporation. He began his interest in the industry in the early 1990’s learning pencil/paper/board drafting. In order to better understand what he was drawing on paper, Steve decided to get a hands-on education by working in the field. For the next 20 years he worked in all aspects of construction from concrete footings and foundations up through the roof. In 2010 Steve returned to school to follow his interest in drafting. He graduated from SWCC in 2011 with a drafting diploma and in 2012 with an Associate of applied science degree with focus on structural engineering. For 6 years he worked as a structural steel detailer in the Midwest and the East coast.

In 2018 Steve began project management for steel detailing and found his niche by being able to impart his knowledge learned in hands on applications.

In 2020 he founded R-Detailing and began managing bidding, take-off and estimation, BIM and project management for steel detailing. The company has grown from just Steve and a computer to 6 employees and now manages an average of 185 steel construction jobs per year. Steve utilizes the knowledge he earned from hands-on experiences to ensure the greatest quality possible for each project.
